Michael grew up in a small town in Missouri.  Life was simple, and some of the most iconic Lynyrd Skynyrd songs such as Simple Man and Sweet Home Alabama were an integral part of the culture.  Through swimming holes, float trips, fishing excursions and camping adventures, country and rock-n-roll were constantly playing.

Michael’s mother was a huge fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and passed down the love of great music and ‘shuffling of feet.’  He regularly participated in activities with music that ranged from singing around campfires to going to the local bar and dancing to live music.

At the age of 19, Michael sought a wider range of experiences and decided to relocate to Southern California.  Throughout all of his experiences, he maintained the core of his country's roots.  Being a fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and well-versed in the art of telling story through song, Michael jumped at the chance to join Lyvyn Skynyrd - a talented band that seeks to bring justice to one of the greatest country and rock-n-roll bands in music history.
